Membership of the Society
If you value the heritage, traditions and natural history of Anglesey,
membership of the Anglesey Antiquarian Society and Field Club
will bring you into contact with others who are like-minded, and
could even afford an outlet for your abilities.
The Society is a Registered Charity (No : 507837) and was founded
in 1911. Membership now stands at around 1,000, world-wide.
Activities include three lectures each year, two social gatherings
and a programme of visits during the
summer. Meetings are usually held in Oriel Ynys Môn,
Llangefni on a Friday evening.
Because of its high reputation, the Society attracts speakers
of academic standing, who discuss archaeological, historical,
social and natural history topics, in Welsh and English.
These are designed to appeal to everyone, expert and amateur.
Since 1966, the Society has published several volumes in its Studies in Anglesey History series, dealing
with a wide range of topics relevant to the Island. These
are available through booksellers and from the Society's Publications
Officer, but offers are made to members at a pre-publication
reduced price.
Members receive a copy of the Society's Transactions
annually, and two newsletters, one in Spring and the other in
the Autumn.
All this will be available to YOU, for a most reasonable membership
subscription which runs from 1st April to 31st March.
The subscription rates are
